Solina top de Breaking the pattern.

Desde siempre me han gustado los libros de costura, patrones y diseños, pueden ser una buena fuente de inspiración. El ultimo que adquirí fue Breaking the Pattern: A Modern Way to Sew, cuando vi las reseñas y los patrones que incluía,creo que quise hacer casi todos, por lo que apenas pude, lo compre por amazon (hace yo creo casi un año).

El top Solina, como se llama en el libro, fue lo primero que hice, el diseño con lazos en el frente y las mangas fue lo que me convenció para hacerlo. No soy mucho de vestidos, por lo que decidí hacer la opción de top, en tela de lino "azul rey" como se dice en Chile. Unos de los temores que tenía era que la tela no me alcanzara ya que la tenía guardada y no me acordaba cuanto había comprado (creo que fue alrededor de un metro veinte centímetros), pero para mi suerte los patrones calzaron justo.

Escogí una talla 38, como soy más bien pequeña (un metro cincuenta de altura), el lugar donde se indicaba que debía ir el lazo en la cintura, me quedo muy abajo y tuve que subirlo unos 5 cm, esto porque el libro se basa obviamente en medidas estándar y es de Escandinavia, donde las personas son mucho más largas que yo jajaj. 

A pesar de ese pequeño ajuste, me gustó mucho el resultado, creí que los lazos en las mangas serían incómodos pero la verdad es que no, no molestan en lo absoluto. 

Todavía quiero "sacarle el jugo" a este libro y hacer más de los diseños que trae, los cuales iré subiendo de a poco por acá. 

I have always liked sewing books, patterns and designs, they can be a good source of inspiration. The last one I acquired was Breaking the Pattern: A Modern Way to Sew, when I saw the reviews and the patterns it included, I wanted to do almost all of them, so when I got the chance I immediately buy it from amazon (I think almost a year ago).

 The Solina top, as it is called in the book, was the first thing I did, the design with ties on the front and the sleeves was what convinced me to do it. I am not much of dresses, so I decided to make the option of the top, in linen fabric in the color "royal blue" as it is said in Chile. One of the fears I had was that the fabric would not be enough since I had it stored and I did not remember how much I had bought (I think it was about one meter twenty centimeters), but for my luck the patterns fit just right. I chose a size 38, as I am rather small (one meter fifty tall), the place where it was indicated that the bow should go at the waist, I stayed very low and I had to raise it about 5 cm, this because the book is based Obviously in standard measurements and it is from Scandinavia, where people are much longer than me jajaja. 

Despite that small adjustment, I really liked the result, I thought that the ties on the sleeves would be uncomfortable but the truth is that no, they do not bother me at all.

 I still want to get the most out of this book and make more of the designs that it brings, which I will upload little by little here.
